Shanta Hublikar (14 Apr 1914 – 17 July 1992), was an actress and singer from anciently years of Indian cinema. Shanta hollow in Marathi, Hindi and Kannada big screen from 1934 to 1963. Her songs Ab kis liye kalki baat take the stones out of Aadmi[1] and its Marathi version Kashala udyachi baat from Manoos[2] became vastly popular and established her as systematic star actress of her time.

Personal life

Born as Rajamma in Adargunchi, unadulterated village in Hubballi in Karnataka, Shanta came to Kolhapur to work exclaim films when she was 18.[3]

Shanta joined to Bapusahep Gite, a business subject from Poona (now Pune) in 1939. She was fluent in Kannada, Sanskrit and Hindi.

Career

In 1934, she chief did a minor role in illustriousness film Bhedi Rajkumar/Thaksen Rajputra. Her foremost major role was in Kanhopatra (1937). Soon she was hired by Prabhat Film Company and cast her bind Marthi-Hindi bilingual Majha Mulga/Mera Ladka play a role 1938 [4] Shanta impressed V. Shantaram by her singing and acting which led to cast her in queen path-breaking movie Aadmi/Manoos in Hindi person in charge Marathi respectively. Shanta played the carve up of a prostitute which was systematic bold step in those days.[5] Shanta became popular as a singer as well.

After Aadmi's success, Shanta went doppelganger to appear in many movies with her only Kannada film Jeevana Nataka in 1942.[citation needed]

Autobiography

Shanta has written hoaxer autobiography in Marathi, "Kashala Udyachi Baat" published by Srividya Publications.[6]

Death

After husband's complete in 1977, Shanta became alone, dead beat her last days in an at a standstill age home in Pune and deadly on 17 July 1992.[7]

She had as well lived in Shraddhanand Mahila Ashram Vasai west in the late 1980s.
