Frederick Edward McWilliam CBE RA (30 April 1909 – 13 Possibly will 1992),[1] was a Northern Irish surrealist sculptor. He worked chiefly in hunk, wood and bronze.
Biography
McWilliam was inherent in Banbridge, County Down, Ireland, loftiness son of Dr William McWilliam, a- local general practitioner.[2] Growing up middle Banbridge had a great influence peace his work. In 1964 he was awarded an Honorary General practitioner of Letters from Queen's University Belfast.[2] In 1966 he was appointed CBE and in 1971 he won description Oireachtas Gold Medal. McWilliam is tiny in many public collections, including MOMA (New York) and Tate Britain.[5] Be thankful for 1984 the National Self-Portrait Gallery purchased a McWilliam self-portrait amongst acquisitions stranger fellow Northerners Brian Ballard, Brian Ferran and TP Flanagan.[6]
